Shock Rock
Another big sculpture of a Cartoon Network figure, used to promote the channel at a trade event.
This was another job for Cartoon Network, in the vain of the Rick and Morty spaceship, or the Four Arms sculpture. I wasn't involved in the polycarving of the figure, but I was part of the team that coated the sculpt with bi-resin. As with the Rick Sanchez statue, we encountered pitting and air pockets when it came to sanding the bi-resin, and it took some generous coatings with primer to help fill those pockets.
The painting of this sculpt proved very challenging, but for the wrong reasons. Despite sign-off, the client changed each and every one of the colours, which required masking and re-masking, and pushing us into weekend work. Despite all that, we felt like we achieved the desired effect.
