Thi​s tree was a commission from a very rich private school. The goal was to create attractive tree that would sit on the landing of a stairwell. The tree was mostly a polycarve, but the thinner branches were all steel that was wrapped in jesmonite-soaked bandages. The fun thing for me on this job was that I was able to do the welding on the branches, because metalwork is something I don't get to practice my welding as often as I would like. The fake foliage was all attached by wrapping it within the jesmonite bandage.
